How did your removal company come about?

In 2007, Rik saw that Roermond needed his services: clearing out homes with respect. He started small, but thought big and quickly gained people's trust. Word of mouth helped the company grow, and he soon hired employees. In addition to clearing out homes, customers also asked for removals in Roermond, Weert and the surrounding area.

In 2023, we opened our second office in Weert. After all these years, we can proudly say that Team RD – now 25 men and women strong – carries out many assignments as a reliable partner. Every day, three teams drive through the region to professionally move you or clear out homes and deliver them swept clean.

Which projects do you enjoy doing the most?

No two days are the same, which is what makes the work so enjoyable. Every day is a new puzzle that we solve as Team RD. We have experience in quickly switching between different situations and finding a solution for every challenge.

On Monday, we move a young family to their dream home in Herten. On Tuesday, we attend an emotional farewell in Weert for an elderly couple who are trading their house for a beautiful flat after more than 40 years. On Wednesday, we move a resident internally at a care facility in Roermond. On Thursday, we respectfully clear out a house after a death in Heythuysen. Then, on Friday, we end the week with a large office move in Nederweert, so that the team can start fresh on Monday at the new location. Finally, on Saturday, two colleagues drive our Box Route, after which the weekend can begin.

How do you deal with sustainability and innovation?

In the removals world, it is common practice to wrap furniture in blankets and plastic foil. We have been working with DuVeMa's sustainable moving covers (Protection Quilts) for years. These are available in different sizes to fit any piece of furniture, from coffee tables to pianos. This saves us kilometres of plastic wrap. Your furniture is also packed quickly and efficiently, with minimal risk of damage to both the furniture and the home itself.

We also deliver the Removal Package with professional materials to your home. This includes various sizes of removal boxes, packing paper, etc., which you can use free of charge. After your move, these materials are collected and reused.

Finally, we donate unwanted clothing and textiles to the Clothing Bank and household goods to various thrift shops, to give them a second life and reduce waste as much as possible.
